How a Bad Attitude Hurts the Job Search

Recently I've interviewed close to 100 candidates and the range of attitudes is phenomenal from too shy to too arrogant. Being shy may hurt your chances in a customer service environment, I guarantee you a bad attitude will hurt worse!

It is so hard when job hunting not to get discouraged and show that discouragement during an interview. This is why it is important to find your Career Passion. This passion will be there no matter how long it takes to find your Dream Career = Career Passion.

I am a very negative person but when I have had job interviews I always had a nice attitude. I cannot hide the fact that I am shy though.

I've been in Human Resources for over 25 years, it is actually very noticeable, to me. It's reflected in tone and response to questions. Hiring managers will also sometimes look for candidates who fit into the group in regards to temperment. If it is a generally positive, cohesive group, the hiring manager is not going to hire someone with a bad attitude, even if they try to hide it.

Shy is one thing, a bad attitude is something entirely different.
