In Iran we have a lot of tombs and mausoleum that buried relative of Shiite religious leaders (Imam). Many people used to go there and request their desire or resolve a problem or pain, for this reason they pay cash and drop some money in tomb. They believe these dead saints are proxy of God.
An organization under charge of religious leaders every year collect all the money and they announced that last year altogether they gathered money a bit more than what we earn from selling oil in those places in entire of Iran.

In fact these mausoleums attracted for a lot of Shiite people around the world to come here. In some pilgrimage Shiite cities like Mashehad in North east of Iran could see many various nationalities that come there. Nearly 10 million Shiite have visited Mashehad every year whereas just Imam Resa buried there.
In Iraq 9 Shiite Imams buried that for us there is full of inspirations. Karbala, Najaf and Samara for Shiite have a lot of meaning, so you can guess if Iraq becomes secure, how many people will go there for pilgrimage. In this case Iraqi can earn more than oil I think.
