In my family, Valentine's Day has always been a fun family holiday. We exchange cards and give each other small practical gifts or something homemade. When we kids lived at home, we'd decorate the house too. We hide cards around the house, leaving some easy ones for the little ones and trying to find places where months or years later, someone will find a cheery good wish for themself.

In honor of my family tradition, this week I wrote an article about the Middle Eastern influence on the Western language of flowers and the favorite flower of Valentine's Day - Roses.

Roses The Middle East Connection

I found several fun sites in researching this article, so I also posted a second article sharing them.

More on Roses

I hope all of you can join me and my family in having some friendly fun this week.
