We often read ,hear no one should be an island.What I am about to share comes from the Dhammapada IMPURITY verses 236,238


Make an island unto yourself.Strive quickly:become wise.Purged of strain and passionless you shall enter the heavenly stage of the Ariyas.(nobles)

Make an island unto yourself.Strive without delay;become wise.Purged of strain and passionless, you will not come again to birth and old age.

I await comments ,these 2 phrases contradict a lot of philosophies.
