Here is a holiday greeting written using galaxies as the letters. A map of the sky shows where each one could be seen. Though I'll add that you'd need a powerful telescope to find them, as they are very distant objects. All of the images show galaxies found in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, which Galaxy Zoo volunteers classified.

Ever wanted to see your name in lights? Well, lights don't get much bigger than this!

You can write your name, a greeting, a message in galaxies on Steve Bamford's My Galaxies website. If you don't like the first version - some of the galactic "letters" aren't very convincing! - then you can get a new version.

If you want to keep the result, or send it to someone . . . you can pin it in a Pinterest account, or it can be saved as an image file. In fact, even a simple graphics program would let you save different versions and paste together one with all the galactic "letters" you like.
