Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your thoughts about friendship. As I age, it gets harder to make true friends because I don't have the history or the bonding time but I have found that the Internet has allowed for some meaningful friendships because we can get to know one another intimately and quickly. There are kindred souls out there in the world.

You are SO right! Do you suppose that because the Internet doesn't have all the distractions, or visual influences, or whatever it is that helps keep things superficial, that we actually end up with deeper conversations? It's past my bedtime, so I'm not very coherent here, but it just seems like I've had much more serious discussions in BellaOnline forums than I ever have with people on the block, some of whom I've known for a very long time.

At any rate, my own sister is long gone, but I have found sisters everywhere on the 'Net.

I think so, Cheryll. The vast outreaches of the Internet allow us to meet limitless numbers of like-minded people as well as diverse minds. How many people do you come into contact with during the course of your daily life?

I am so thankful for the Internet. And for the wonderful people I meet through it.
