What is said about my astrological sign is very accurate in describing my personality and some of what I consider to be important things in my life. Certainly not everything I read I believe, but I have found that there is truth in astrology in many instances.

Thanks Debbie. I find astrology useful both in magick and health matters. When we were deciding whether to get our cat neutered checking his chart was a key influence. We have birth charts for both the cat and dog as we can check and progress them as necessary.

I read or learned once an injunction, paraphrased, Touch not that part of the body with steel governed by the sign through which the moon is passing. The moon passes through a sign around about every two and a half days and as we read, the different parts of the body are ruled by the different signs. Aries being the first sign rules the head. So to interpret that warning above, it would mean it is unwise to have any kind of surgery to the head when the moon is in the sign of Aries. Interesting? I think so. Quite possibly Lestie. Statistically there seem to be a slight increase in bleeding admissions to hospital at the times of the full moon as compared with non-full moon days.

Steel itself is an alloy of iron, a metal which in it's pure form is connected with Aries and Mars. Depending on what metals have been used in making the steel the characteristics vary slightly. This is why many Pagans prefer to make their own knives.

I would certainly not elect to have any surgery two days before and two days after a Full moon (given that I get to choose the time and that it is not surgery for an emergency reason).

I think in that saying above, the 'steel' was just a metaphor for any surgical instrument.

I had a colleague who specialised in medical astrology (since died) and it seems to be a really complicated branch. I found it fascinating to talk to her and really miss her now that she has gone.

I just happened upon this, and I have to say what initially comes through is (in terms of the moon, magnetics, tides - if you need proof the comings in and out, etc.).

Well, say if I were to happen to need open heart surgery, I wouldn't pick (however I'd not thought of it until this post) but my deduction is this:

We're 80% water, yes? The moon science (ho-hum) can finally after all the whatnot, actually come out and say, well, the tide has something to do w/the moon.

So, steel (or undergoing the knife via surgery) I would think would have much the same issues - possibly blood thinning, going back to even that in which women tend to go into labor and those on the verge of mental stability, come certain aspects of the moon/energy, can (in my opinion) have an affect.

I'm not a scientist, nor a dr. but it seems reasonable to me, if to have surgery, study that of the tides
