Hi all,
I've got a whole bunch of photos of the places I've been to in Japan, including more pictures of the Beppu Hells, and those related to the other articles I've written in the Places of Interest category.

An article can only be so long and descriptive, and a picture is worth a thousand words, so if anyone is interested in those pix, feel free to drop a short line here and tell me the places in Japan you'd like to see pictures of, and I'll try to upload them here. E.g. Abashiri Prison Museum, Aoshima Shrine, or any other place in Japan you wanna know more about.

I've been to LOTS of places in Japan, so chances are pretty high that I'd have what you want. Not the Tokyo Skytree though... I haven't been there.

Cheers~

As I posted in the maid cafe thread, I would like to see a picture of you posing with one of the maids in a cafe! smile

I'm also interested in shoyu brewery and other food-related places. Sports, music, arts, crafts.

You mentioned enka singing and my grandparents used to watch enka singers on Japanese television programs. I used to laugh at the warbling voices but now I appreciate the art form. I viewed some old footage of enka singers on youtube.

Posted pix of me posing with a maid in the other thread. Do check it out if you haven't. smile

The Japanese LOVE food. They love it so much that I find it rather unnatural, even disturbing at times. This is evidenced by the number of TV programs dedicated to introducing food, restaurants and such. Those TV shows employ good camera angles for both the food being introduced and at the person chewing on it (including close-ups...), combined with loud chewing/slurping sounds and exaggerated looks of bliss on his/her face after taking a bite. Oh, and not forgetting him/her exclaiming "Umaaaaai~" or "Oishiiiii" (meaning "delicious").

The younger generation of Japanese are into pop idol groups like AKB48, which is HUGE here. They are the major money spinners in the music industry, so you hardly see or hear any other kind of music on TV. The exception is the annual Red and White Singing Competition held on New Year's Eve, where Enka singers get the relatively rare chance to perform on TV.
