Taking a break during the day for a walking meditation is a way to sort out the moments priorities, think up a plan of action to complete the tasks at hand, or even long-range goals. Walking Meditation for College Age StudentsDo you ever do a walking meditation?

Great article Susan! I am well, well past college years but when I was in school I took long walks every day. Not only did it help me not to gain the freshman 15 (pounds), it also helped to clear my head so that I could concentrate on my studies.
Ohio State is a huge campus so there were plenty of areas to walk both on and off campus. I would just start out in a direction and find fascinating and peaceful areas. Of course that is probably when it was a lot safer to walk alone, but I do encourage walking, it relaxes the mind - just be sure to stay safe!

Dianne, thank you for chiming in - yes walking is so good for clearing out the cobwebs, as well as maintaining health!

Hi Susan,
I do walk and meditate in the woods and have found that the calm and reflective state accompanies me on my wanderings. It's a natural cure for a busy, overworked mind!
In fact, I love to stop and hug one of my favorite trees, a huge pine.
Peace.
