Can I shrink copies of my paintings and make then into pendants for necklaces and bracelets using resin? Sherri Haab has a book out and Dick Blick has pictures of making jewelry using resin, but I can't tell if the bracelet pendants were painted on after making or the artwork was encapsulated in the liquid plastic. Also, how badly does it smell? I tried Pebeo glass paint and it smelled up my house and gave me a headache when I baked it. I hate to waste any more money on stuff that isn't what I thought.

I found out the answer. It is best to use a respirator, and the pictures I saw were encapsulated inside the plastic.

I'm glad you were able to get that figured out.

I recommend always using a respirator, and creating enough ventilation that the vapors leave by the time you take the respirator off (otherwise you're just breathing them in again).

I have this challenge even when soldering, although it's less of a problem now that I purchased a little ventilator fan to stick in my window over the soldering area. It's a hassle, but I do worry about vapors, which can effect kids and pets in the house too.

I know of someone who re-creates her artwork on shrink plastic and seals them with embossing powder. They are actually very beautiful!
