Cassandra, for years I wore simple clothes. I didn't especially like them, but they covered my body and didn't look awful. Recently, I re-discovered Catherine's. They have cute clothes that fit my large-sized body. It feels wonderful having cute clothes. I cleaned my closet of everything that I no longer wanted.

Great article, Cassandra.

I have changed my life by being more accepting of myself in every way.....how I look, how I feel, what I have to offer to the people I love and to the world around me.

As far as my body image, I have accepted that I am not perfect but attractive. I am mindful of what I eat, but I do treat myself to things I like so that I do not feel deprived. When I can I walk and do other exercise. I am certainly not committed to a particular routine, but it suits me just fine.

I like to interact with nature, whether it be walking outdoors, spending time on the beach, gardening, or just sitting on the deck swing enjoying the sounds of the birds. Being out in nature helps me find peace within myself, and I feel good when my brain has aired out, so to speak. I think having that quiet time to be a part of the larger earth around me helps me keep balance in all areas of my life.

Very thought provoking, Cassandra.

My husband loves me as I am and never pressures me about losing weight, but I often feel that he 'deserves' to have a slimmer wife so I 'should' lose weight for his sake. Recently I even considered applying for the next series of Biggest Loser. Your article made me ask, why would I want to put myself through all that punishment - being away from home for months, and all the game playing?

I like my life, so I'm going to eat mindfully and take some enjoyable exercise, and be grateful for all the good stuff!

Thanks for this article.

Great article. We only live ones, so wasting your life trying to become somebody you're not or submitting to pressure, that is offensive to our creator. And I also agree that we all deserve to be loved for who we are, without being pressured to change a fit someone's mold.
