The 90th annual Academy Awards ceremony is happening on March 4th, 2018. Nominations will be announced on January 23, 2018. A record 92 countries have entered films for the Foreign Language category. "First They Killed My Father" is Cambodia's official entry. Unusual, because it was directed and co-written by an American - Angelina Jolie.
170 Documentary films have been submitted. A shortlist of the top 15 contenders will be announced in December.
