Anyone else go and see 300 and just love it? I know history-wise it's based on fiction, but I have to say, as far as fantasy entertainment goes, it worked for me! I thought it looked amazing given everything except some of the acting was rendered in a computer. It looked so much like the graphic novel, I liked the visual design and effects.

I thought it was an amazingly gorgeous movie. I want to go see it again on the big screen. It was like watching Hamlet or another theatrical play, but with great swordwork and action too.

I know we don't have the exact details of that era, but I believe the shield designs and such are accurate. I think the only real complaint is that Xerxes was not at all what he is known to look like from representations of him. In the movie he looks like a tall boyish African, but in real life I believe he was a bearded Persian ...

That movie is great. I am still kicking myself for not going to see it in a movie theatre, these special effects on a huge screen must be awesome! The special effects looked awful when I was seeing the commercials on my television so that is why I waited to see it. The music is excellent, it's part of my big collection of movie scores.
