Hi everyone! My husband and I are looking for some help trying to name our 2nd daughter. We have narrowed it down to A names but now we are stuck. Any suggestions? We like simple names...

My latest favorites include Gracie, Olivia, Stella, Lilly, Sophie... I have three daughters. One is named after both of her grandmother's middle names. I love her name and have never regretted or wished it had been something different. I think she even likes her name, for a teenager that's pretty good! Oh another favorite is Vivian, or Vivie! Good luck.

Simple "A" names... how about:

Anna
Anya
Annette
Ava
Avery
Amy
Amber
Audra
Audrey
Aubrey
Ashley
Alice
Alexa
Adina

Would it be possible for you to give us more information? For instance, what's the name of your first daughter? What does your last name sound like (i.e., is it short/simple, long/complicated, somewhere in between)?

lol, I missed that... simple A names! Good luck. Ann, that's about as simple as it gets.

iwonder - I totally agree with most of your favorites -- great choices smile

lucyp1024 - I've never seen Syanne before -- it could be invented (maybe based on the color cyan?), or might be a variation of another name (like Diane, Cheyenne or Siena)

Thanks for all the help. The baby's sister's name is Julia...and our last name sounds like yo-yo. After you get a good laugh over that, keep all the great ideas coming!!! smile

A long-ish name (3+ syllables--just like Julia) might sound especially good next to your surname, in terms of what it would add to the rhythm. How about:

Angela
Augusta
Amanda
Annabelle
Alanna
Andrea
Alexandra
Ariana
Antonia
Alicia
Alison
Aurelia

Some of these aren't very 'simple,' but hopefully they'll help you brainstorm...
