Happy Cinco de Mayo to all Ethnic readers of Mexican descent. Today is a traditional and festive day celebrated by Hispanic communities around the US. The tradition originated in the Mexican city of Puebla. To the people abiding in this city, today is a day of victory in their history.

As more Hispanics from Mexico settled in America, they brought with them the traditional celebration of Cinco de Mayo. In the US it has become a day for Hispanic communities around the nation to celebrate and showcase their culture, tradition, festivities, activities, costumes and food. Also included in this celebration is the acknowledgement of the contributions made by these communities to the society and cultural make-up of the nation.

St. Patrick's Day is a celebration for the Irish American community. Black History is a celebration for the African American community. Today, Cinco De Mayo, is a celebration for the Hispanic American communities.

It is a celebration of a people united by ethnicity. Here they are free to share and celebrate their tradition, history, heritage and culture with everyone.
