In today’s time, Earrings are more than just decorative jewelry – It is a personal style statement by both the sexes. There are varied Types of Earrings available for the earlobe and some specifically for the rest of ear – Stud, Hoop, Dangle, Huggy, Slave, Ear Thread and Ear Spikes are some examples. Gauge Earrings – these are used to stretch the body piercings. Some forms include Taper gauges, Plugs, Fake gauges etc. Earrings with pictures – Hooped shapes earrings with pictures, teardrop shape, beaded images, Popular cartoon characters, paintings, studs and drop earrings all make a beautiful style statement. Earrings for Cartilage - This is also known as Helix piercing and typically, people tend to wear thin hoops in this area. Standard hoops, studs, barbells, ornate styles are found amongst this kind of piercing. Pierced Earrings – these beautiful pieces come in the form of thread earrings, studs, hoops, danglers, chandelier earrings etc. Earrings for Sensitive ears – types of earrings recommended for sensitive ears include, Niobium, Titanium, Platinum and Plastic earrings. Bead earrings - Bead earrings are one of the few things that have successfully made their way into the modern world without losing charm or desire on their way. Types include crystal, glass, handmade, gold, sterling silver, paper, beaded chandelier earrings, seed bead earrings, native American beaded earrings, beaded hoop earrings, swarvoski beaded earrings etc. The Types and Designs for earrings can be endless depending on the taste of the customer and the material to be used.

I agree there are many types and designs and materials of earrings for each type of individual, each choice defines and individual, for me I personally like dangler and ear stud

Kind of interesting how many ways people classify earrings. We just separate fine and fashion jewelry altogether and then by material and with or without the presence of diamonds - i.e. diamond earrings, silver earrings, gold earrings, fashion earrings, etc...
