Hello there,

Another twosome for you - this time on the benefits of growing garlic in case you haven't already done so. It is easy enough to grow and in containers you can grow enough to store for the year. What can be better than your own organic garlic? Well I guess there will be many answers to that question but when it comes to ease of growing and health benefits of vegetables there is little competition out there. Radishes? Lemons? What do you think?

Anyway, Garlic is top of the pops for me at the moment so hopefully you will agree.

I enjoyed your two garlicky articles. I've put the recipes in my file. Not so sure about the growing. But I'm glad to see that you cover various contingencies: "Water well, especially in war and dry conditions." And also in case of civil unrest?

Oh thank you very much Mona for your sharp eyes and for making me smile ... some may think the enemy may run if the opposing side all reek of garlic, whether in war or civil unrest! I've heard it said that it wards off vampires so why not other enemies?

Growing it is sooo easy, I wish you would try. Whatever, just buy ORGANIC garlic at least, because most of the stuff we get in the shops has been nuked for long shelf life and is dead, deader, deadest... who knows what is left of the minerals and all?
