Fabric yo-yos, or fabric rosettes, are those delightful gathered circles sewn from little more than a round disc of fabric and a running stitch so quick and easy to make and yet a pleasant way to make use of colorful fabric scraps.

Remember making a table topper out of it for a school project back in grade school. It's really easy to make. Now, thinking of doing one again. Haha!

I am envious of your school project of a table topper made of yo-yos. Years ago (that would be many, many years ago!), in a Home Ec class, our teacher only let us make a simple tote bag - a rectangle of fabric with a hand sewn fabric handle. I so wanted to learn more at the time. My simple tote bag did not spark my love of sewing until years later, out of necessity, the arrival of my first daughter and my need for inexpensive baby clothes brought me to sewing her layette. Sewing, and all things sewing related, has been my passion ever since.
