BellaOnline Forums TV and Movies Drama Movies Netflix Will Finish and Restore Orson Welles Film

Netflix announced yesterday that it has negotiated the rights to "The Other Side of the Wind", the final film from "Citizen Kane" director Orson Welles. Welles started shooting the movie in 1970 and continued working on it sporadically until his death. His effort is chronicled in the excellent book by Josh Karp, "Orson Welles's Last Movie: The Making of The Other Side of the Wind". Director Peter Bogdanovich, who appears in the film, will help oversee the project.

Update: "20 Feet from Stardom" director Morgan Neville will be making a documentary on the last 15 years of Orson Welles's life as an accompaniment to "The Other Side of the Wind". The two films will launch simultaneously on Netflix in 2018.
