Actor Alec Baldwin announced today that he will be the new host of the Turner Classic Movies series "The Essentials". Baldwin, who previously co-hosted the series from 2009-2011, is taking the place of Robert Osborne, who passed away recently. Baldwin begins his new gig on May 6th, when his guest will be David Letterman. "The Bad and the Beautiful" is the featured film. Tina Fey and "The French Connection" director William Friedkin are also scheduled as future guests.
