Mona, what do you think about all the debris that we have put in space? It is probably worse than the mile plastic swirl in the middle of the Pacific. This was a trivia question and I actually got it right.

The space debris problem is something I've been thinking about writing about for some time. The only really believable part of that film Gravity was the space debris. "Kessler Syndrome" isn't a term I knew, but yes, I think it's a real danger. Weather satellites, communication satellites, GPS, the space station, all kinds of things that we rely on are menaced by space debris.

That we cannot travel through space is both a blessing and a bad thing, it is bad because it would be awesome but a blessing for the Universe since we are so disgusting and evil. It is not enough that we are destroying our planet we have to pollute around Earth too!
