I came across a cartoon about the pronunciation of Makemake. Yes, it looks like English make-make. But it's the name of a Polynesian god in Easter Island mythology, and the people there pronounce it MAH-kay-MAH-kay.

Makemake's moon - hidden for ten years! Found at last in Hubble Space Telescope images. (KBO = Kuiper Belt object) Makemake, besides being a dwarf planet and a KBO, is a plutoid. A plutoid is an object that has Pluto-like characteristics.
