BellaOnline Forums TV and Movies Drama Movies Stars We Lost in 2016

The Academy Awards ceremony always presents a montage of stars and filmmakers who passed away during the previous year. This year, the list includes David Bowie, Ken Howard, Alan Rickman, Doris Roberts, Patty Duke, and directors Curtis Hanson and Garry Marshall. If you don't want to wait for the Oscars in February, the IMDb website has just posted a short feature titled "In Memoriam", dedicated to the memory of those we lost.

Alan Rickman was one of my favorites - even in the otherwise dire Costner Robin Hood, Rickman was a delight. I once encountered him in the produce section of what was my local Marks & Spencer and was so excited (while trying to be cool about it) I'm surprised I didn't topple over into the sprouts and carrots.

Thanks for sharing that story. I never encounter interesting people like that in the produce section! My mother once ran into Clint Eastwood and had the same reaction you did.
