I check websites. I do not read reviews until I have read the books (also do that with movies) I look around and when a book looks interesting I will buy it. I mostly check the descriptions but also sometimes the cover of a book will make me buy it. Also if it is based on a movie or a show that I like or it looks like it will be good I go for it (in my experiences i prefer reading the book before watching).
