I think boys get their diagnosis earlier than girls because of the havoc that they can cause when the ADD/ADHD is undiagnosed. Girls suffer in silence until they are so frustrated. Then, it looks like a lot of them become defiant. The damage to the girls has been done by that time. It is certainly not fair to them to make them wait for effective treatment.
