Pierce Brosnan is set to play the lead in a new drama series from AMC, called "The Son". Based on the book by Philipp Meyer, the series will tell the multi-generational story of a Texas family with Brosnan playing the aging patriarch. Brosnan is replacing Sam Neill, who dropped out for unspecified reasons. The series will premiere in 2017.
