Michael Mann, the writer/director behind films such as "Miami Vice", "The Insider", and "Collateral", is launching his own publishing label, Michael Mann Books. One of the first projects is going to be a novel based on the characters from Mann's film "Heat", starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. The book label will produce both fiction and non-fiction, with an eye to developing projects for film and television. Mann's current film project is a bio-pic about Italian car maker Enzo Ferrari.
