When we owned our own grocery store we always had kids stop in to ask this - "ARE YOU HIRING?" - like we had a need for so many employees that we had a day of the week that we just "hired" people!
A better question for them to have asked is "could I turn in a resume?"
Whenever we needed to hire we went to our stack of resumes.
