I have found, that sometimes, I get lonely via Social Media. Everyone posts these wonderful things they are doing, or places they are visiting. And it makes me feel inadequate, I guess is the word. I have found the library to be a safe and friendly place!

What you wrote really moved me. I can relate because I have experienced loneliness multiple times when I cut all ties with my friends back in high school. It's not that easy to connect with them because they think I abandoned them. That's why I joined this site because I don't want to be lonely and maybe feel alive which I am as I type this to you. (。◑ヮ◑。)

Feeling lonely is tough and eats away at our self esteem. So glad you reached out and feel alive through interacting on here smile I bet if you emailed or contacted your old friends and explained they would understand though I guess you had reasons for cutting all ties...
