On behalf of the Daughters Site, I would like to wish you a safe and joyous Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of all the traditions connected with it. It is truly a National Holiday and reminds us of the cost and sacrifices so many gave to create what is now the greatest country in the world. It is also a favorite of mine because of the family traditions that are connected to this holiday. Like many families, I will be eating turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and other traditional foods. We also have some family traditional foods that will be served that are unique to my upbringing.
I look forward to sharing the experiences I had as a child with my kids and hope that they continue those traditions when they have families. But more important than eating on this day -Â what I hope to impart on my kids is that holidays are opportunities for families to reconnect and share stories from the present and past. It is those opportunities when we have the ability to help our children understand what is truly important in life.
