Chili is tasty for those cold days. Make it with ground meat or substitute the meat with lentils. It's good either way. Be sure to put a bunch of red beans in there.

Creamy soup with carrots, onions, celery, turkey chunks, white and wild rice.

Loaded potato soup with potatoes, celery, onions, milk, cheese, sour cream, chives, and bacon bits.

Soup made from celery, onions, carrot bits, rice, chicken broth, heated to boiling and poured over 4% milk fat small curd cottage cheese.

I know it sounds nasty, but it is soooo good and a real comfort food without loads of calories.

Turnip soup sounds strange, but it is delicious. Years ago, I found a recipe in the Kansas City Star. I made it for a dinner on New Year's Eve. It was a hit!

I had some left over Rotel dip, so I made it into spicy cheese and corn chowder.

I made a lovely veggie soup this week. I used turkey broth and finely chopped veggies. Carrots, onions, celery, summer squash, zucchini, and mixed peppers were the veggies. Then, I added V-8 to the broth. Seasoned salt, garlic, and pepper were the seasonings, but I didn't have a bay leaf.

White chili is delicious. Process rotisserie chicken for the meat. It's already cooked and seasoned.
