The Papal Mass in Philadelphia was beautiful. In fact the entire event was so well orchestrated by the City. Congratulations, Philadelphia. We had such a wonderful visit there and the Mass topped it off.
We arrived at the ticketed security area around 9:00am. We were located at the barricade under the flag of Guatamala. My friend connected with us and spent the day with us. At 3:30pm the parade began and as Pope Francis came down the roadway we were about 30 feet away. My camera acted up just as he came close to our location so I just watched him as he passed by. He seemed to have a twinkle in his eye, a broad smile, and he exuded warmth.
The Mass was beautiful and he was joyous just being with so many people who came together to celebrate. We were one family.
