Dressing up in costume for Halloween remains an enduring childhood tradition. Something quick and easy to sew or no-sew is often a must for busy households. Costumes for children should be easy to make and comfortable to wear with safety concerns utmost.

Cheryl!
I love the spider idea! I have no children, but am still one at heart. This is a perfect idea. Thank you. I really enjoyed this article.

I am so glad you enjoyed the article! Over the years, I have made so many of the costumes I mentioned. I was always fond of the spider one. I still have a ladybug costume I made when my two girls were little. Four large round circles of red felt, two stitched together for a front and two for the back then stuffed with fiberfill, large black felt 'spots' appliqued to the red felt and black short suspenders so the two stuffed circles would easily fit over the head. Then I made two bouncy antennae to attach to a headband. So much fun.

I have puppets. I can make the spider one for one of my puppets. Almost like a child - a very quiet child. Kind of, sort of???
