We made the decision early in our marriage not to have the TV on on Sundays. Instead, we use our time after church for letter writing, visiting family and friends, and connecting with our children.
It was a bit hard when the kids were young as we had to keep them engaged. We love the time it afforded us as a family.

What a great tradition you have. My parents would never have the TV on throughout the day at all. On Sunday it would get turned on after dinner so that we could watch some of the Sunday shows.

In my household, we barely watch TV, children included. Sometimes we turn it on for the morning news and then it goes on late afternoon. Now we rely more on the internet and wifi..lol
