How often these days do you get the chance to undergo trials to become the Official Witch at a well- known UK Tourist spot? In 2009 over 400 people went to Wookey Hole, in Somerset UK, to be tested on their perceived "Witchyness" to become the new Witch of Wookey Hole at £50,000 pro rata. I went along as one of the participents to see what it was all about

Just found a short video of the event. Sadly they seem to have avoided some of the more "interesting" ones (like the man in the fishnet tights) but it still gives some flavour of the event

Drat! I'm working on a computer with now sound at the moment. Will see if I can find a better clip later or work out the instructions for the sound.

Yes, that was fine. Thanks. Quite a gathering! Must have been quite entertaining for the locals. But, sadly, no cackling. I guess everybody saved that for the auditions. (I was about to say "trials" but realised that the word had very bad connotations in this context.

Some of the auditions were very arduous for the spectators as well as the performers but I, for one, appreciate your sensitivity. By the way in the Youtube video did you spot a certain Leather Hatted black cloaked reprobate?
