I was looking through the August US, Marie Claire and saw the new Dove ad for the hair products.

It shows pictures of regular people with all kinds of different hair and then it says,

"None of these women are hair models. After all, neither are you. Dove believes all women have beautiful hair when it's deeply cared for. No matter what length, style, cut, color or texture, you can discover the beauty in your own hair with the deep care in Dove Shampoos and Conditioners. Learn more at campaignforrealbeauty.com"

Yes it is still a push to use the products but this is a big step in the right direction.

I've never seen a firm confessing that they just cared about the models until they launched their new campaign.
What should we do know? Just forgive them and buy their products? I guess it's just another scheme to try selling new products.

I think it is great that the ads acknowledge that they are talking to real people. Yes, that is a step in the right direction.

However, I still find, in the salon, the styles and look that most people want are the ones worn by models or celebrities. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

So women that are models are not real? I who am not a model but am also not fat, am I not real too? If we go by all these lists of real women I am not real like all the models we see in magazines and runways. Hey maybe I don't even exist, or maybe I am in the matrix or something with all the other not real women!
