There isn't going to be an article this week. My father just passed yesterday at 59. I'm currently in the middle of making arrangements with my mother and helping her, my family, and of course, myself through the grieving process. Raptor Jesus and the Flying Spaghetti Monster willing, There'll be a new article up this week. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Your news is sad and there are sure to be many dark days ahead ... everyone grieves in different ways so go with your flow and take your time.

I found it helpful to spend time both alone and with friends and family imagining that each (or the group) is surrounded by a circle of light. Each person then has a chance to remember something about your Dad, both good and bad (since I am sure he was a 'whole' person), and the thought bounces back and forth from your imaginary circle, often making you smile with acceptance and love.

It sounds funny to write about the idea and not to speak of it, but hopefully you get the gist. I found this immensely helpful when my Mom died.

Anyway, my thoughts are with you and your family for an 'easy' time ahead.
