Hiya,

I have just taken delivery of a really nice amount of organic horse manure-compost and am so pleased.

It is dry and easily spreadable (no smell tra la) and with much enthusiasm I have put it wherever I could and will store the leftovers for the next cycle of use.

It's also the first time I am using it.

I am very hopeful that this will be a major boost to the garden and my containers and look forward with gardener's impatience to next season when the results will be in for sure.

Besides the composts that are readily available from the garden centres, have you used other kinds of composts? Chicken manure? Pig manure? Worm wee? Bokashi?

Lestie, my compost is strictly kitchen waste: banana skins, veggie trimmings, egg shells, etc. I have turned it once this year but need to do so again. Last year's mix was well composted by spring and it did well.
