Hi--I just got a perm--I used to get them years ago, stopped, and decided to go back to it--I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make it look less frizzy--any special shampoo or treatment that's new that i could know about? THe products I used to use are long gone from the shelves----

Many thanks in advance.

Hi 2tommi,
I'm glad you posted this question.
First make sure the ends are fresh and any dry ends are trimmed off.
Use moisturizing or smoothing shampoo and conditioner. These products are made to get rid of frizzies on straight or curly hair.
There are lots of serums made for the same purpose. Use this after shampoo and conditioner and towel blotting.
There are cream curl definers also. Sometimes I use both the serum and the cream. I layer as many products as it takes to calm the frizz.

And ... no combing until it is dry - either air dry or diffuser.

I spent many years with perms and I loved it. I have been thinking the past years of maybe getting one again. I would love a perm with also coloring my hair but I know it will be too harsh for my hair.

Using both hair color and perm is often drying to your hair. People used to get both all the time but back then we weren't used to shiny, healthy hair.

It can be done - with care - but rarely can it be done again and again - as in re-perming as it grows out.
