Where is everyone publishing their books? Are you going through e publishing or traditional publishers? Traditional being publishing houses.

Hey daisybun....
I've been thinking about this too. I'm going for the indie approach. I don't want to wait on a publishing house to think that I'm worthy of their attentions.
There are pros and cons to both approached, but I think epub is the way to roll. You have much more control, but a lot more to do.

Hi Jana -- I don't mind the work -- it's the wait that messes with my head. I'm doing a book proposal right now and it is getting to be a real pain with everything they want in the proposal. There are 12 parts to what they say they need and it feels like I'm doing their work.

Goodness, by the time you get done with the proposal you could've written another book. It does seem like you are doing their work for them. What the heck kind of proposal has 12 parts? Is it a marketing plan?

Dear Ladies,
I've always wanted to go the traditional route, because it used to be so much more important. But now even the big houses have an (e)publishing side!
I think I'm searching right now for a small publishing house. So you get the help and you have to help, but it seems so much better???
Your thoughts?

Yes, I have abandoned the idea of traditional publishing. This proposal was through Llewellyn and it has just proved to be so distracting and frustrating for everything they'[re asking for. Non-traditional is the way to go for me.

Lisa Shea has a great site that tells you how to do it from start to finish. I'm probably the last one to know about it! She is such a diamond! She shares her knowledge freely and is such a bright spot to my day with all her writings. Look at her site -- all the know-how is there. Lisa Shea
