I am wondering about something... Do you believe a non-ethnic parent can instruct an ethnic child in ways that will cause him or her to feel beautiful, ways that will cause him or her to take pride in their ethnicity?

We'd love to hear your points of view. We'd also love to hear your questions, and see the enlightened answers that others may have.

Remember, this is a family friendly site - a safe space. We are all here to learn, to discuss, and to enjoy.

My answer: I believe so.
My reasoning: Loving parents, regardless of ethnicity, do whatever it takes to see that their child is well-equipped, for life.
My example: A non-ethnic friend of mine - While doing research, while speaking with myself and with other ethnic people; while attending ethnic affairs, this formidable single woman is not only rearing an ethnically conscious daughter, but Momma said that she too is learning many things!

I believe so. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder there are many traits that are universally beautiful. Clear skin, overall health, a positive attitude; all of these things are beautiful. Perhaps the non ethnic parent might not personally know answers for example how to take care of ethnic hair, but that is what sites like this are for! - Lara
