While I did not start singing to improve my respiratory health, vocal exercises and singing with a choir have had significant health benefits for me. You might find similar benefits, while also experiencing the fun and joy that involvement with music brings into life. Singing, Health, and Neuromuscular Disease

Nice article Jori. I never would've thought about singing as a way to better health. I can't sing, at least the way I want to and so the dogs don't howl. Thanks for sharing!

Love this Jori! So happy that something you enjoy, singing, is improving your health as well. As always, shared your article with the Upstate NY CMT group.

Jana, you don't have to be a 'good' singer to benefit from some of the breathing exercises involved in learning to sing. Increasing the ability and mobility of your lungs to move air in and out can lead to health improvements (even if your dogs still howl at your singing). Plus, you may even be surprised to hear your voice improve.
