Are you wondering what the difference is between traditional and digital scrapbooking? Do you think maybe you are missing out by doing one over the other? This article will help by taking a look at some of the differences. Maybe you will try both in the end!

Traditional Versus Digital Scrapbooking

Which type do you use? Have you tried both or just one? I use both. I love the paper and embellishments (and even shopping.) Yet, I have FUN playing with my Studio J program too. I do not however, mix the two. LOL I don't let my food touch on my plate either. wink

I'm predominantly a digital scrapper. I started as a paper scrapper and slowly shifted over. Now I design elements and backgrounds for the digital side...I use my paper supplies still for other types of paper crafts! It's so much easier to scrap with digital since all my pictures are digital anyway and then i shoot my layouts to a book publishing company and get bound books made of them...it's super fast and super easy and my family gets gorgeous books to look thru.

I like crafts I can feel and touch, but I am slowly moving over toward digital. With digital, I have every color I could want without having to spend lots of money. And it is easier to experiment because you can undo things. I have been playing around with creating background pages and elements in Photoshop. I am starting to write simple tutorials for things on my blog. Would there be any interest in discussing how to make your own digital stuff here?

Ilah B - Thanks for responding! I didn't think about the color options, but that's a big benefit toward digital. And undo-ing with paper can sometimes be done, but maybe not so quickly as digital.

I've worked with Photoshop Elements and I love the stuff that I can make with it, but it takes a long time to me. I'd love to hear about some tips and how to make digital stuff!!

I don't know about you, but when I scrapbook, I always want something that doesn't yet exist, so digital gives me the option to make something.

I'd love to see some of your writing. Maybe we could find some things that would work well here and you could do a guest piece. Let me know - send an email to me through the articles if you are interested.
