There's a book I just ordered titled, "Ordinary Magic: Everyday life as a spiritual path." It calls to me because I have been finding magic in everyday moments.
Sometimes, as I'm doing little everyday activities, I get a glimpse of the eternal perspective and how that very small moment is most significant. It is the experience of being human. It has a slight deja vu feeling because I have "seen" this scene before (before I was born) as a sort of preview of what could be. It's hard to explain, really.
When this happens, a sense of grace overcomes me. This life, all of it, is a gift of grace. Then, I feel thrilled with the chance to be here. TO LIVE!
Think of this when you are in a shower with clean, warm water or gazing at the rising sun, breathing deeply the exhalation of the trees, our partners on this planet. Think of this when you are in the throes of despair, feeling rejected, in pain or in love.
Such a gift. All of it.
One needn't go off in search of his path. Wherever you are, there is it.
