Hi Annamaria. I read your articles with great interest although I've never really posted in your forum because I haven't had the backbone to submit any of my children's stories to publishers yet. I have been writing children's picture book stories for years, but they have taken a backseat to my adult non-fiction writing just because the non-fiction paid the bills.

But I love children's picture books! They are my secret writing joy. smile

I've studies the market and understand its challenges. I'm considering self-publishing even though I know it will be costly. Do you have experience with the nuts and bolts of hiring an illustrator, projected printing costs, etc.

Thank you for some great advice, especially about how writing is only 1/20th of the work involved in getting your book sold. I completed a non-fiction book and had it self-published but after sending out only a handful of promotional copies, I guess I just expected it to sell itself. haha! This year is my breakthrough year of tackling the serious job of book marketing!

Oh, and really fine-tuning my children's books. Thank you for the inspiration!

Now that it's March -- how is everyone doing with their New Year's writing resolutions? I'm doing well. I reviewed them again this morning and was shocked to see how well I had adhered to my new year plan. Surprise!
