Hello there,
So much happens on any day, everyday, in every way and in all things but it seems that March 2nd is a 'flight' day!
Since man first looked up to watch a bird flying in the skies above, we've been fascinated by flight (just ask Icarus!)
Several significant steps to do with flight took place today.
The first non-stop airplane flight around the world was on this day in 1949.
The first test flight of the Concorde SST was on this day in 1969.
The first commercial flight of the 747 was on this day in 1970.
In 1972 Pioneer 10 was launched, the first probe to visit the outer planets.
...............................................................
Do you know of any other flight events that happened on this day?
Cheers
