I read all three books in the series as well as a friend of mine. She went to see the recent movie and she didn't like it. Both of us liked the love story element more than the domination factor, and the movie did not accurately portray that part of the story. As for me personally, there are times I would like my partner to set the tone or initiate during intimate time, but I prefer to be treated as an equal than to feel like I'm being controlled. I am not sure that taking notes from this work of fiction would positively affect a marriage in any way, popular or not.
