Hello everyone. It is that time of year again when we all resolve to lose weight and exercise regularly. I have promised a six week exercise tune up and it is on its way. However, I will not be participating in this course but offering advice and guidance.

For myself, I have decided to test one of the 10 Minute Workouts. There are more and more of these popping up everywhere. I am going to be following Workout 1, from a great book I’m reading. I will be reviewing the book when I have completed it.

The program calls for exercise 28 days in a row. I will be doing 4 minutes of Cardio; 3 minutes of Strength/Resistance Training; 2 minutes of Core-Strengthening; and 1 minute of Stretching and Deep Breathing. I will be reporting regular here in the forum and I invite you to follow along to see how it’s going and even join in with your own exercises. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone. I'm glad to see that people are reading and watching this experiment. What I forgot to tell you was I will begin the 10 Minute Workouts starting on Monday, January 12th.

So keep watching to follow my progress.

Hi everyone. Today is Monday, January 12, 2015. I completed the first day this day's 10 Minute Workout. Each week the workout changes but keeps the primary components: cardio-resistance exercise-core strengthening-and stretching.

Whoever thought a minute could be so long, I thought as I held the Wall Squat for one minute.

Hi everyone. Today is Tuesday and day 2 of my test of the 10 Minute Workout. My assignment for is to "MOVE". A consistent movement for 10 minutes. Some examples were: using the stairs at work or at your home. The object is to make movement a conscious effort each day and that it doesn't have to be hard-core.

I rode my recumbent bike for 10 minutes.

Hi everyone. Ten minute workout last night, Wednesday. It called for the actual workout. The 4-3-2-1 workout is done 3 times a week and supplementing by keeping moving for 10 minutes on off days.

Yesterday was 10 minutes of movement. I cleaned my house. It was more than 10 minutes and I worked up a sweat.

Observation: I am finding out that it is not always easier to do 10 minutes of exercise versus a full workout. When I plan a workout of apx. 30 minutes I put it on my schedule. I have also put the 10 Minute W/O on my schedule but it is easy to push it way down on the list because I tell myself, "Oh it's only 10 minutes, I have all day." Before I know it it's evening and all the sudden it jumps to a priority, usually at a more inconvenient time.

Hi Everyone. I think a missed a day somewhere. Sunday was the 10 Minute Workout. Today I marched in a MLK rally and walked about one mile. Over the 10 minute requirement.

Oh no, how delinquent I have been. Looks like Monday was my latest post. So I followed the program and Tuesday and Thursday were 10 minute workout days. Today I will probably do some yoga.

Observation: I miss some of my regular exercise elements, such as Pilates, Yoga, waking, etc. I know I can add them in the off days but I am used to deciding how I am going to exercise that day based on how I feel. I have trouble keeping to a schedule with a regular routine, I get bored fast. So what I do is just schedule the exercise time not the activity.

Whatever exercise or movement you do today pat yourself on the back and enjoy it!

Hi everyone. Saturday and Monday 10M workout. I have to be honest I am getting bored with this. If I were going to do this on a regular basis I would have a group of alternative exercises that work the same muscle groups. That's interesting maybe I will start that now.

Observation: It feels like I'm not getting enough exercise. It's probably because I'm not used to this timeframe.

Hi everyone. Well the 10 minute workout plan test is over. I have made many observations along the way. I decided it is too much for the forum so I am going to be writing an article about it. Watch for the article it will be posted over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for following me on this test. I hope you will look forward to my article.
