BellaOnline Forums Beauty and Self Body Art Tattoos in Monsters Ball

I just saw Monsters Ball a few nights ago and was struck that each of the 3 main characters - Halle, Billy Bob and Sean - had at least one tattoo. And in each case the tattoos seemed to match that character's personality.

Unfortunately they didn't do close-ups of any of them and none of the characters sat still with the tattoo visible so these pictures are on the fuzzy side. I did the best I could <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

First, Halle. Of the 3, she's the one who you don't think HAS a tattoo. You only see it one time - it's on her butt and it's shown during the 'seduction scene' where she and Billy Bob are first together.



I think it's a manta ray or a similar shape - it's solid and fluid, sort of like her.

OK, Sean, who plays Halle's convict husband, who is sent to the electric chair. He's an artist who draws portraits. So it's very interesting that his tattoos - you see them on both arms - are very artistic and detailed.

First, his left arm. I love especially the picture of his tattooed arm next to the portrait he's doing - how both are works of art.

OK, Sean's right arm. They don't show this one as well, although both images are very powerful. The first is when Sean is in his final hours and holding onto the bars of the cage. You can't see it well, but there is an image of something at the top of his arm, and then apparently a few lines of written words. Maybe a Bible verse or something?

OK, finally the Billy Bob tattoos. Where Halle's are fluid and Sean's are artistic, Billy Bob's are very simple and terse. Nothing fancy or intricate. He has at least three that you see - 2 on one arm and 1 on the other.

That movie was okay. I still am wondering why there were so many people raving about it. Sure the acting was great but that was it really.
