Belgium artist Wim Delvoye, who has pushed artistic boundaries before with his art in Europe, has set up shop in China. His work, which deals a lot with mortality, is tattooing pigs.

Yes, pigs. The pigs are raised just for this purpose, are sedated before being tattooed, and then raised and cared for to live out the rest of their natural lives. Those interested can buy a tattooed pig to keep, or can pick one out and will receive the skin after their selection has passed away due to natural causes.

I have to say, as one who has always explored the ideas behind what is art, I find I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me thinks it's clever, and the pigs certainly have a better life than most of the farm animals in the same region. On the other hand, it is kinda creepy, but I don't know why.

You can read the entire article on CNN and then let me know what you think of this.....

This is sickening! Animal rights is my main issue and I have never heard of this, that article is not there anymore but I will go do a search after this. There is really no end of the cruelty of human beings! From the man who does it to the people who are his customers they are all guilty of animal abuse! I do not care that they are sedated during the torture and that after the torture they go live in a wonderful place it is animal cruelty!
